About
It’s tough trying to determine what kind of information someone would be interested in reading when launching a personal website. As a pracademic at heart, I tend to first look at literature, so I promptly looked up the definition of a personal website. According to a general search on Google, a personal website or ‘personal web page' is a world wide web page(s) created by an individual that contains content of a personal nature rather than content pertaining to a company, organization, or institution. Thus, I will briefly strive to describe myself as it relates to both my academic, professional and personal life.
This past year I turned 30. Phew. It was a big one. A party to remember (even amidst COVID). Turning the BIG 3.0. made me ponder about my life experience and in that pursuit, I have reached the conclusion that I am almost an adult. I can put on my academic hat, professional hat, and even my very proud aunt hat. It’s an exciting age to be and I am truly grateful for each and every experience that has led me to this current moment. I have completed my Master’s degree in Sustainability and thoroughly enjoyed my research work at Okanagan Lifestyle Apparel. I currently live in the Okanagan and pursue most of the seasonal activities offered in the area (road biking, longboarding, surfing, paddleboarding, hiking, snowboarding, running, rowing, golfing etc).
A fun fact that tends to surprise people is that I have been an entrepreneur for almost ten years. My goal with my current and future businesses is to create products that engage the five senses, leading to experiences that build community online and offline with the end goal of inspiring positive social change. If (and when) COVID comes to an end, you’ll find me out and about enjoying each and every season the Okanagan (and similar places such as California) has to offer.
